Stevenage M4's travelled to Saffron Walden for their opening league match. Stevenage started the match brightly and in the 7th minute Harp scored an opening goal. Saffron Walden didn't sit back and 3 minutes later Saffron Walden scored an equaliser. With a back 4 which included Jon, Graham and Geoff they handled Saffron Walden counter attacks very well in an end to end first half. Unfortunately on the 28th minute Stevenage conceded a 2nd goal that meant we went into the break at 2 - 1 down. After a well needed water break Stevenage came into the match in a very even game with Geoff making a solo run into the D in 37th minute evading Saffron Walden players to unselfishly assist a goal for Ally to score an equaliser. The game was still very end to end with Geoff and TC combing well, Cameron making good runs into the Saffron Walden D and Leon and Pete making good runs on the right and taking shots into the D that nearly brought Stevenage a 3rd goal, however despite Saffron Walden counter attacks the were well defended by Anand at the top of the D Stevenage unfortunately could not hold onto the draw and conceded 3 further goals in the 2nd period bringing the final score 5 - 2 to Saffron Walden....overall was a very good and encouraging performance from everyone in a season opening game....Star player of the match Cam
