M4's travelled to Broxbourne M4's for an early pushback time of 10AM. With a back 4 comprising of Kal Singh, Jon Parker, Alex Lake and Ian Noble, who was making his debut league appearance for M4's, Stevenage started off well with both sides passing well in a very open game. With a midfield 4 of Chris Niewdach, Harry Greenwood, Josh Lake and Leon Harvey M4's man marked well and broke down Broxbourne attacks to feed the ball well to the front pairing of Simon Russell and Tony Farnan. Unfortunately, on the 34th minute, M4s went down to 10 players after Martin Swarbrick, who was playing well in LM, received a 10 minute yellow card. Despite this, M4's won themselves a PC on the stroke of half time which was injected by Josh Lake and eventually found the stick of Simon Russell who fired the ball to goal to give M4's a 1 - 0 halftime lead. M4's started the second period as they had done in the first period by man marking players well and breaking down Broxbourne's attacks in midfield and despite some scares for M4's defence and numerous chances for M4's in attack including Lee Pickersgill passing the ball well to Simon Russell. M4's held on well for their first win of the season....overall was a great team effort from everyone and puts M4's into mid table...MoM Harry Greenwood
